Chapter III: a: The Plan and The Pact

Liang Meng sat quietly in his chambers. He was comptemplating whether to capture Chang Sha or not. He heard a knock at his door, "Enter." Zhao Yun and Yong Chou entered. Both seemed to be at odds with each other, for their eyes were angry and locked upon each other. Liang Meng sighed and said, "What is it now? I do not have time to deal with petty squables if this is indeed what this is."

Zhao Yun shook his head, "No my lord, this is about Chang Sha. I believe we should capture it now, before Sun Ce has a chance to take it! If we can get a stronghold there, he won't be able to move south my lord! Let us strike now, we have over forty thousand troops at Gui Yang, we can take half and easily hold Chang Sha while we build up our strength!" Liang Meng nodded, the plan was exactly the one he was thinking of.

Yong Chou shook his head, "No, I believe we should wait til Sun Ce or Liu Biao take Chang Sha. I doubt they will have such a great army to take it, for we are pretty much unknown. While we do have the famous warrior Zhao Yun, they no nothing else really about us. We wait for Sun Ce to take it. Then while he brings his officers to Chang Sha to help with domestics, we attack, capturing them. There we can persuade his officers to join us."

Liang Meng knew this was slightly an underhanded tactic, but there wasn't honor in this war anymore, only in battle. He nodded, it seemed the more logical plan, "I agree with Yong Chou on this one Zhao Yun, only because of the fact that we need more officers. While this isn't the most honorable thing to do, it needs to be done." Zhao Yun looked deflated, but bowed and left along with Yong Chou.

After that incident, Liang Meng was able to acquire Cheng Ying as an officer. With bandits raging around Gui Yang, Bao Long took lead and set out with three thousand bowman and wiped them out. Yong Chou had persuaded Pan Jun and Liang Meng employed Liao Li. His army grew, and so did his personnel. But as they grew, the relationship between Zhao Yun, Liang Meng, and Yong Chou grew stronger. Despite not agreeing with each other on strategies, they were closer than anything. They cemented their pact together as sworn brothers.

In the rest of the world, Sun Ce had finally taken the city of Jiang Ling from Liu Biao, and Liu Biao was now down to Xiang Yang. With Cao Cao pressing from the North and Sun Ce from the south, Liu Biao knew it was going to end soon, but he still held fast. Sun Ce, traveling north, found a large resistance against him with Liu Bei, with a reinvigorated army, they marched out to stop the advance of Sun Ce. But Sun Ce's eyes were traveling south to the city Chang Sha, where it had no master. He knew of the man named Liang Meng and how he has famous warrior Zhao Yun, but with his massive army, he doubted if he took it, he would do anything.

But he didn't know Liang Meng, what he was planning. How he planned to attack as soon as Sun Ce got situated in the Chang Sha. It was a good plan, no, it was a fantastic plan, but he knew that soon he would need a greater strategist. Now it was Zhao Yun and Yong Chou, who, while not incompetent, were not good either. He needed to find someone who could fight Zhou Yu.

((I will no longer be doing officers acquired unless they are of note.))
